It was one of those nights.
The kind where you smuggle yourself into your comfiest blanket, get lost in your thoughts, and almost without thinking, reach for your phone.
I started scrolling through social media.
One post became another, and before I knew it, I was looking at the lives of different lifestyle influencers. Some of them were around my age. They seemed to be doing so much, starting new things, reaching new milestones, becoming the people they had always dreamed of becoming.
And then, almost quietly, the comparison crept in.
A wave of unfulfillment washed over me.
Why am I still stuck?
I couldn't help but wonder.
Everyone seems to be moving forward with their lives. Everyone is achieving something new. So why does it feel like I'm standing still?
The more I thought about it, the heavier it felt.
But then, something shifted.
In the middle of all those thoughts, a strange sense of peace began to settle over me. Not the kind of peace you can explain away. The kind that surpasses all understanding. The kind that can only come from God.
And then Jeremiah 29:11 came to mind:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
— Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)
It felt like a gentle reminder from Abba Himself.
And suddenly, I remembered.
Abba’s got me covered.
Maybe I don't have everything figured out yet. Maybe my journey doesn't look like the journeys I'm constantly seeing online. Maybe I'm not where I thought I would be by now.
But that doesn't mean I'm behind.
It simply means my story is still being written.
And perhaps that's something we all need to remember sometimes.
Social media can be beautiful. It can inspire us, connect us, and introduce us to things we never knew existed. But sometimes, we need to step away from it.
Not because everyone else's life is bad.
But because sometimes, we need a little quiet to hear our own thoughts again.
A little space to declutter.
A little time to remember that our lives were never meant to be measured against someone else's timeline.
So, if you've found yourself asking, “Why am I still here?” lately, perhaps this is your gentle reminder:
You are not forgotten.
You are not behind.
You don't have to have it all figured out.
Your journey is still unfolding, and the One who holds your future isn't asking you to figure it all out at once.
Abba’s got you covered.
